Travelling to a clinic several times a week is hard after surgery, a stroke or a fall. Aayan Global arranges physiotherapy at home in Udupi, Manipal and nearby towns. A BPT or MPT qualified physiotherapist visits, assesses the patient and follows the programme the treating doctor has advised. The first visit is a free assessment, and sessions usually begin within 24 to 48 hours.
Aayan has provided home nursing since 2015, so physiotherapy can be combined with nursing care under one coordinator. To book, call +91 73495 13467. This page is part of our home nursing services in Udupi.

Conditions Treated at Home
After knee, hip or spine surgery
Exercises to regain movement and strength, walking practice and safe transfers, progressed as the surgeon allows.
After a stroke
Work on balance, walking, arm and hand use and daily tasks, started early in the way the neurologist and therapist advise.
Fractures and injuries
Gentle range-of-motion work and strengthening once the surgeon or orthopaedic doctor clears movement.
Joint stiffness and arthritis
Mobility and strengthening routines that keep older people moving without a trip to the clinic.
Back and neck pain
Posture advice, stretching and strengthening, with a plan the family can repeat between visits.
Balance and fall prevention
Balance exercises and home checks for older adults who are unsteady or have fallen before.
What a Home Visit Involves
- Assessment: the therapist reads the doctor's notes and scans, checks movement, strength, balance and pain, and sets goals with the patient and family.
- Treatment: exercises and hands-on techniques suited to the condition, using simple portable equipment such as resistance bands and therapy balls.
- Teaching: the patient and a family member learn the exercises to repeat on the days the therapist does not visit.
- Review: progress is noted at each visit and shared with the treating doctor when needed. A standard session usually lasts 45 to 60 minutes.
Physiotherapy and Nursing Together
Many patients need both. After an operation the nurse looks after the wound and medicines while the physiotherapist rebuilds movement, and the nurse reminds the patient to practise between sessions. Our post-operative care, stroke care and bedridden patient care pages explain how the two fit together.
How a Programme Runs
- The first visit is the free assessment, with no obligation to continue.
- The coordinator confirms the visit schedule and the fee in writing before the first treatment session.
- Visits are usually several times a week at first and reduce as the patient improves.
- If the patient is not comfortable with the therapist assigned, ask for a replacement.
Working with Doctors and Hospitals
The therapist follows the protocol set by your surgeon or physician. For patients treated at Kasturba Hospital or KMC Manipal, bring the discharge summary and any physiotherapy instructions to the first visit, and the therapist will work from them. Where the doctor wants a progress note, we share one.
Preparing for the First Visit
- Keep the discharge summary, scans and the doctor's notes ready.
- Clear a space of about two metres by two metres and keep a sturdy chair and a firm bed or mat available.
- Ask a family member to be present, so they can learn the exercises.
- Tell the therapist about any dizziness, chest pain, recent falls or medicines that affect balance.
Stop and call the doctor if an exercise brings on chest pain, breathlessness, sudden dizziness, new swelling or sharp pain. The therapist will tell you the same at the first visit.
Fees
The fee per session depends on the condition, the therapist and the number of visits. The coordinator confirms it in writing after the free assessment and before the first session, and can tell you whether a multi-session arrangement suits the patient. For nursing and caretaker rates, see the home nurse cost page.

Frequently Asked Questions
Qualified physiotherapists with BPT or MPT degrees. The coordinator matches the therapist to the condition, for example orthopaedic, neurological or older-adult care.
Usually within 24 to 48 hours of the free assessment call. After a surgery or stroke discharge, mention it when you call so the visit can be prioritised.
A standard session usually lasts 45 to 60 minutes. The first assessment visit can take longer.
It helps. After surgery, a stroke or a fracture, the therapist works from the doctor's notes and any limits on movement. For general stiffness or back pain, the therapist assesses first and tells you if a doctor should review.
The fee per session depends on the condition and therapist. The coordinator confirms it in writing after the free assessment, before the first treatment session.
Early rehabilitation is usually advised, but timing and intensity depend on the neurologist's instructions. The therapist starts gently and adjusts as the patient responds.
Yes. Many patients have a nurse or caretaker for daily care and a physiotherapist for several sessions a week. One coordinator handles both.
